Effective date and version
Effective October 20, 2026. Policy version: refund-policy-2026-10-20.
This version moves refund requests, the initial-purchase guarantee included, to email. A purchase made under an earlier version keeps that version's guarantee terms; ask for it by email as described below.
How to ask for a refund
Email support@privca.com from the email address on your Privca account. Say which charge you mean, with its date and amount if you know them, and why you are asking, or that you are claiming the initial-purchase guarantee. One email per charge works best.
Do not send a full card number, bank account number, password, government ID, or payment-provider secret. Privca identifies the charge from its own billing records and may ask for other non-sensitive details if it cannot match the charge safely.
The guarantee
Privca guarantees a refund of the remaining refundable balance of an account's first successful paid subscription charge when the request reaches Privca within 336 hours of Stripe's paid timestamp and no qualifying external privacy request or follow-up was transmitted for the payer or a covered Family member after payment and before the request arrived.
The 336-hour deadline is inclusive. The guarantee covers the whole remaining refundable balance of that one charge, which Privca confirms from its billing records.
What counts as use
A real request or follow-up transmitted to a broker, company, portal, or other request target after payment counts as use. This includes automated, email, manual, and portal submission lanes across the payer and covered Family members. Anything sent after your request reached Privca does not count against you.
Login, account or identity setup, identity verification, target selection, unsent request preparation, and local-log testing do not count as transmitted use.
Eligible purchase and excluded charges
The eligible purchase must be the account's first successful paid subscription charge, in U.S. dollars, made under Billing Terms that carry this guarantee (from July 23, 2026). A prior successful paid subscription purchase makes a later purchase ineligible.
Renewals, re-subscriptions, plan changes, add-ons, and charges with no refundable balance are outside this guarantee.
Review and decision
A person at Privca reviews each request using the billing record, the account's request history, its cancellation state and prior refunds, and the explanation given, and answers by email. Outside the guarantee, approval is not automatic merely because a request was sent.
For a request outside the guarantee, Privca may approve all or part of the amount, ask for more information, deny it with an explanation, or use another remedy where appropriate. An approved amount is tied to one verified payment and cannot exceed what remains refundable through the payment provider.
Refund, cancellation, and prepared work
Privca makes a qualifying guarantee refund of the full remaining refundable balance to the original payment method, cancels the subscription and future renewals without a new invoice or proration, and ends paid access. Privca may also cancel requests that have not yet been sent.
Work transmitted before the refund is preserved for evidence and appropriate monitoring. Privca does not send broker-withdrawal messages merely because a guarantee refund is made.
Other refund reasons
Duplicate charges, unauthorized charges, charges after cancellation, billing errors, material service failures, discretionary corrections, and remedies required by law remain separately reviewable. Those cases may allow a full or partial amount and do not automatically cancel the subscription.
A guarantee denial does not decide or waive a separately supported billing-error, unauthorized-charge, or required-law claim.
Provider timing, records, and disputes
Stripe returns approved refunds only to the original payment method. Bank posting time depends on the payment method and issuer, and a recent charge may appear as a reversal. Stripe keeps the record of each refund.
Tell Privca if the same charge is disputed with a bank or provider. Privca may coordinate the remedy to prevent duplicate reimbursement without limiting non-waivable dispute rights.
Required-law rights and contact
Nothing in this policy limits refund, cancellation, automatic-renewal, payment, or consumer-protection rights that cannot be waived under applicable law. Where law requires different treatment, Privca follows that law.
