Our commitment
Accessibility is part of how we build, not an afterthought. We want people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, voice control, or other assistive technology to be able to learn about Privca, manage their account, and follow their privacy requests.
We treat accessibility as ongoing work. As we add features we review them for keyboard operability, color contrast, clear labelling, and predictable structure, and we fix issues as we find them or as they are reported to us.
Conformance target
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard most widely referenced by accessibility law in the United States and internationally, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the European Accessibility Act. We also review against the additional criteria introduced in WCAG 2.2.
WCAG is organized around four principles: content should be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust. Level AA is the conformance level that organizations are generally expected to meet.
Conformance status
This site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that most of the content meets the standard, but some parts may not yet fully conform. We are actively working to close remaining gaps and we re-check pages as they change.
We state this honestly rather than claiming perfect or guaranteed compliance. No automated tool or plug-in can make a website fully accessible on its own; real conformance comes from accessible structure, content, and code, supported by testing with assistive technology.
Accessibility tools on this site
Every page includes an accessibility button, marked with the universal accessibility icon, fixed in the lower-right corner. Opening it reveals preferences you can turn on at any time. Your choices are saved on your device and applied on every page.
The panel lets you increase the text size, turn on a higher-contrast color scheme, reduce or pause motion and background animation, underline links so they stand out from surrounding text, switch to a plainer and highly legible typeface or the dyslexia-friendly OpenDyslexic typeface, and show a bold outline on whichever control currently has focus. A "Reset all" option returns everything to the defaults.
These are genuine, first-party controls built into the site, backed by real styling. They are deliberately not a third-party "accessibility overlay" plug-in; such overlays have been widely criticized by accessibility experts and regulators because they do not actually deliver conformance and can interfere with the assistive technology people already use.
What we have built in
Beyond the preferences panel, the site includes accessibility features that work for everyone by default.
A "Skip to main content" link appears when you start tabbing, so keyboard and screen-reader users can bypass the navigation. Pages use semantic landmarks (header, navigation, main, and footer) and a clear heading structure. Interactive controls are reachable and operable by keyboard, menus and dialogs can be closed with the Escape key, and a visible focus indicator shows where you are. Icon-only buttons carry descriptive labels for assistive technology, the page language is declared, and decorative animation respects the system "reduce motion" setting as well as the in-app toggle.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some limitations may remain. Complex interactive areas, third-party content, downloadable documents, or recently added features may not yet fully meet every WCAG 2.1 AA criterion. Increasing the text size to the largest settings may, on some screens, change how a few layouts wrap.
If you encounter a barrier that is not listed here, please tell us. Reports from people who use the site are one of the most valuable ways we find and prioritize fixes.
Feedback and contact
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this site. If you run into a barrier, or need information on this site in a different format, contact us and we will do our best to help and to respond promptly.
Email support@privca.com with "Accessibility" in the subject line, or use any option on our Contact page. Please include the page address, a description of the problem, and the browser and assistive technology you were using if you can, so we can reproduce and address the issue.
Assessment and updates
We assess accessibility through a combination of manual keyboard and screen-reader checks, automated review during development, and feedback from users. This statement is reviewed as the site changes.
